[Click to Listen] - Here at Green Acres Kennel Shop we're making May Dog Bite Prevention month. Why? Because fifty percent of all children will be bitten by a dog during their childhood. That's a statistic we want to help change.
The basic rule that always should be followed with dogs and children is - SUPERVISE AT ALL TIMES.
Consider these steps if you are expecting:
Bringing a baby into your home will be a major change for your dog. Start thinking about this and planning several months before your delivery date.
If your dog has never attended a dog training class, now is the time to do so. If they have attended a class, start brushing up on important behaviors like SIT, DOWN and LEAVE IT.
If you have any concerns about how your dog will behave around a baby, meet with a dog behavior consultant as soon as possible. Don't wait until the baby is born
