Kate and I discuss the latest news from the pet world covering a wide range of topics such as; basic healthcare, how to choose a good cat or dog food, training, behavior, and management of your pet, resolving problem behavior, serious health issues, and more. Sometimes a show is just the two of us having a conversation, but we also have guests on the shows from our hometown, Bangor, ME and from all throughout the USA. The Woof Meow Show, airing since 2004, is hosted by Don Hanson and Kate Dutra of the Green Acres Kennel Shop in Bangor, Maine. The Woof Meow Show focuses on educating people about dogs, cats, their behavior, health care, nutritional needs, and their relationship with their people. Don Hanson, co-owner of Green Acres Kennel Shop since 1995, is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant, Certified Professional Dog Trainer, a Bach Foundation Registered Animal Practitioner, and an Associate Certified Cat Behavior Consultant. As a result of his studies and experiences with his pets and client pets, Don has acquired a broad base of knowledge on animal behavior, pet nutrition, and complementary and alternative healthcare. In addition to working with clients pets in Bangor, Don has presented seminars on pet behavior, dog training, pet nutrition, and Bach Flower Remedies in Canada, the Caribbean, Japan, and throughout the US. Don has also been very involved with the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, serving for nine years on the APDT Board of Trustees, and as Chair of the APDT Board for two and a half years. In 2014, the APDT recognized Don as the APDT’s Dr. Ian Dunbar Member of the Year.

Kate Dutra has been a manager and professional dog trainer at Green Acres Kennel Shop since 1992. She is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and works with Don on pet behavior cases. Kate’s extensive knowledge of animal behavior, especially body language and group play, has helped many clients and dogs in the community. She has presented several seminars on canine body language in Maine. Like Don, Kate also has an interest in pet nutrition and complementary and alternative healthcare.

Z62 Retro Radio focuses on hits of the 60s and 70s with local talk radio with Downtown with Rich Kimball from 4 PM to 6 PM weekdays, and The Woof Meow Show every Saturday at 9 AM. WZON is one of three stations owned by Zone Corporation, the others being WKIT (100.3 FM) and WZLO (103.1, 98.3, and 100.3 FM). The Zone Corporation is owned by authors Tabitha King and her husband, best-selling horror writer Stephen King.
